New York HarborにおけるLiberty Island, Ellis Islandをとりあげました。
前回Walt Whitmanの”Mannahatta”とStatue of Libertyに寄せられたEmma Lazarusの詩”The New Colossus”を読みましたが、今日はPaul AusterのLeviathanとJohn Dos PassosのManhattan Transferを紹介しました。どちらもNYを舞台に繰り広げられるおもしろい小説です。
次回はLower Manhattanに移ります。
